the works here are entirely FICTION and/or my own opinion and are written primarily for my own enjoyment. I hope you enjoy them as well, but if you don't, I won't be losing any sleep at night. Feel free to hit me up at loserdomi@gmail.com (or any post's comments sections) with suggestions, ideas, etc. Thanks for reading!

You know what's great about a weekly feature? Not using it for a month. What brought back the inspiration back was an email from fan of the blog Greg Wayne who sent me the following video that tries to teach us all how to Dougie:
So then, I started looking into other songs about hockey players. I couldn't make this list without "The Ballad of Wendel Clark" by The Rheostatics
Now, this guy has versions of this song for the Sharks, but the Sens version is just so...intense
Not too long ago, I was asked by someone how on Earth I could like hockey, respect myself, AND be a Leafs fan. To be perfectly honest…
I love when Kessel scores.
I love Kule-aid’s moves.
I love how Kabby skates.
I hope Komi’s not a fluke.
I love the Maple Leafs, and all the Blue and white, Bacon yada, Bacon yada , Bacon yada…
I love Van Ryn’s Bones
I love Phaneuf karaoke nights
I love when Gustavsson saves
I LOVE WHEN LUKE SCHENN FIGHTS
I love the Maple Leafs, but not MLSE
Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada, Bacon yada
I love when Kessel talks
We don’t need top draft picks
I still love Tlusty’s NSFW
I’ll always love calling Hollweg a dick
I love the Maple Leafs, and all the Blue and White
Bacon yada, bacon yada, etc.
This week's theme is one of the newer Leafs, Kris Versteeg. It looks like Brian Burke has traded for guys I can actually write silly stuff about, as presented by clip one: Versteeg sings "Glamorous" by Fergie
Now, I was thinking of putting the original up for comparison, but I really liked it better when it was done by J.J. Fad and they called it "Supersonic" [NOTE: I originally thought Versteeg was doing "Fergalicious", not "Glamorous". It wouldn't surprise me if he knew "Fergalicious", but J.J Fad is staying just because it's a solid groove]
clip three, after watching Versteeg perform "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", I honestly can't wait for Steeger to sing "Ebony and Ivory" or "Ain't no Mountain High Enough" with Dion Phaneuf
Maybe they can do "I got you, Babe." Any other suggestions?
OK, so this week's FYY was going to be about Rickard Wallin (was being the operative word here.) But then I found clip one:
That was the best clip involving him I could find and understand. Yes--pictures and wipes (including star AND heart!) set to generic angsty rock was the best Wallin video ever. Note the lack of photos of him in Toronto.
So...for the other two clips. here are some Adam Ant (and the Ants) songs. A while back, I did the "Rickard Wallin, bizzarro supermodel" post, and someone said:
No wonder the guy blows so bad - he spent most of his energy as the front man in an Adam Ant cover band. There's 41 seconds of my life I'm never going to get back.
I'd like to thank that anonymous commenter, since I've started digging into Adam And the Ants. I guess Wallin did something good after all, since I've been humming these next two songs for the past few days.
Well folks, it looks like this may be the last Youtube Yoinkage for a while. I honestly don't know when I will get a good enough web connection to view Youtube again. So this means today's theme is a look back at some of the videos that have really made this blog.
Clip one: How Alexei Ponikarovsky and Nik Antropov are like the Odd Couple. This vid has spawned so many inside jokes and each line is solid gold:
Ckip two: a fan vid of Max Talbot set to "Womanizer". It just kicks ass
Clip three: "Jozin z Bazin", which got me onto Czech classic rock
Today's theme is dedications to various players. These are clips that I dedicate players.
Clip one: The Tick suddenly discovers he has a nice mustache. I imagine Ian White went through this clip, word for word:
clip two: "total eclipse of the heart", Dedicated to Matt Stajan ("turn around, bright eyes...") as I imagine John (Fuckin) Mitchell would sing it (naturally, lyrics NSFW):
clip three:Watching the final Habs/Bruins game Wednesday night, for some reason I thought of the song "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus. This makes no sense if you know that Carey Price is a huge George Strait fan, but bear with me.
Since I head home to dialup on Sunday (I love month long breaks), today's FYY will be the last for about a month. Today's theme is awesome covers.
clip one (sorry for the link but embedding's disabled) is a lounge cover of "Somebody Told me" By Richard Cheese and Lounge against the Machine Just right click and open in a new window or something
clip two: "I Get Around" as Performed on Mario Paint Composer
clip three: Dion Phanuef sings "Don't Stop Believing" (or at least he tries) Feel free to make your own sloppy seconds joke
Today, I've decided that for Halloween tonight, it's Freddie Mercury as a costume. That's right--big stache So today's FYY is a celebration of Freddie Mercury day!
I started really listening to Queen just recently, since I had to listen to Bohemian Rhapsody about a billion times in order to write the Maple Leafs season preview for MYFO
clip one: Live Aid Bohemian Rhapsody/Radio Ga-ga
clip two: "I Want to Break Free", just because it's a fun video
For today's Friday YouTube Yoinkage, I'm doing something a bit different. This week, I've got three songs that may be excellent theme songs for this season for all the Leafs fans. Feel free to throw in your own suggestions in the comments
clip one: "Bad Moon Rising" by Credence Clearwater Revival:
Clip two "Comfortably Numb", as seen in "the Wall"
clip three: This version of "Hold me, thrill me, Kiss me, kill me" (OK fine, I just thought a Dexterized version of this song was awesome.)
Oh balls, another FYY I totally forgot about? For shame, LD, for shame. No real theme other than I'm damn lazy and I need to put up three clips.
Clip one: How to cook a turkey using a lightbulb and some DVDs. I just wish I had thought of this back when I was still living in the dorms so I could make everyone else jealous.
Clip two: One of the best questions ever asked: Bush or Batman:
Clip three:DO I even really need to explain a mash-up of Transformers and "Intergalactic" ?
By now you've all probably read my season preview of the Maple Leafs on either MYFO or The Bleacher Report In order to write it I had one of the three following videos playing almost anytime I was at a computer for at least a week. I really recommend having the audio of some variant of Bohemian Rhapsody playing while reading what I wrote. It really adds to the experience.
Clip one: The real Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm pretty sure that grinding noise you hear is Freddie Mercury rolling over in his grave:
Clip Two: The very Excellent Brohemian Rahpsody:
Clip three: The Zero Wing Rhapsody . Sorry for the link but I took the actual home for it on Newgrounds (instead of the stolen YouTube Version.)
OH yeah, the lyrics:
Is this the season?
Is this it finally?
Who am I kidding, No escape from reality…
I cannot lie, Leafs fans will cry, you see
I’m just a Leafs fan, I need no sympathy
Because it’s “the Leafs suck!” “no, they blow!”
Cutting grass and golfing jokes
Any way the ref goes doesn’t really matter to me, to me
Sundin won’t wear the C
But just might if we find he finally makes up his mind
Stocked up on mid grade D-men
Will they self assemble just like Voltron?
Prob’leeee nooo-ooo-oot
Barring strange new miracles
The Leafs D-squad is mostly made of cardboard
Tape him up, trainer guy
Job security for the win
PK for shutting down
Keeps us asking all the time
“What the hell is with these lines?”
Lacking such a presence of big bodies
A boarding call is not a pillow fight
Maplllllle Lee-ee-eeafs,(any way the ref goes) driving me to drink
I won’t have a liver by the time you win the Cup!
(Awesome guitar solo. Go ahead and rock out, I’ll wait.) [RD Note: Thanks--air guitar time!]
I see a team of basement cleaners for the year
That’s OK! I don’t care! It gets better soon right?
Lose to Kings and Lightning, Stajan’s really fighting WHAA??
What the Hell? (What the Hell?)What the Hell? (What the Hell?) What the Hell is going on?
Is that CuJo? AT least he’s not Raycroft, and he was pretty cheap
At least it’s not Raycroft wearing the Maple Leaf, he’ll get another chance if he comes back for cheap
The Leafs suck, no they blow, your mom’s still a ho
Un’ca Cliff making such great trades (He did not!)
Un’ca Cliff making such great trades (He did not!)
Un’ca Cliff making such great trades (He did not!)
making such great trades (He did not!)
making such great trades (He did not!) ah,
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh not again, not again! (not another easy goal)
The Maple Leafs just got shutout by Florida, Flor’da FLORIDA!!
(Commence head banging!)
Who’s the real owner here? Is there some evil plot?
“why should we have a good team when we can just suck?”
Bullllllshiiiit. Who would ever believe that?
Just gotta get a flask, some reasons I drink booze right here
Clip three:Jon Lajoie's "Everyday Normal guy" this one has nothing to do with hockey, but he is based in Montreal. Plus it's awesomeness, and 0:54-1:04 will rock your socks off.
The challenge: See how far you can get through this video of Dion Phaneuf without laughing. records: Heather of wraparoundcurl: about7 seconds, me: about 5
Clip 1: “The Six Million Peso Man” I brought this up over at Pension Plan Puppets yesterday—if Carlo Colaiacovo grew his hair out and added a badass mustache, he'd totally look like the six million Peso man. Personally, I love the first five seconds.
clip 2 : “Being a Leafs Fan on YouTube”, from Steve Dangle. I first stared watching his stuff when he got featured over at Barry Melrose Rocks. And no, Scotty, this “poor kid” is not my boyfriend. He's kinda cute, I'll admit it...Make of that what you will, folks. All I know is this particular clip made me laugh so much my cheeks hurt every time I've seen it.
clip 3: Denis Leary's “I'm An Asshole”, dedicated to a very special leprechaun NHL commissioner
Well, the Leafs keep adding wins to make me feel good, I've got good friends to be with this weekend for my birthday on Sunday. I've also got a metric crappe-tonne of work to do that I am slacking off on. Will it screw me over? Oh Hell Yeah. But do I care? Right now, not really. That's why this week's FYY theme is a mother-fuckin' dance PARTY!!! That's right--it's just music that makes me groove and boogie.
Clip one: Electric Six, " I Buy the Drugs" I've been looking for an excuse to post this forever because I love it that much. But a dance party is good enough:
Clip two: Bloodhound Gang, "Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss" At 1:42, feel free to make your own Kyle Wellwood joke if you wish to do so:
Clip three: Carbon/Silicon, "The News" This one just makes me feel all bouncy and such:
Since it's a leap year day today, I feel like I should do something for it, but I don't have anything. Instead, this week's FYY is all about reactions to the trade deadline action
Reaction one: Kool and the Gang tells us how to do it:
Reaction two: "Fire Water Burn" From Bloodhound Gang. Lots of Leafs fans have been singing this one for months now:
