What the HELL, Yahoo Answers?

OK, fine. I know what an intellectual abyss Yahoo Answers is. I'm fine with that. When I go there for kicks, I know I'm not getting the sharpest tools in the shed. But the two highlighted questions that are "related" questions to "A few Q's about the Leafs" has me wondering what the hell is going on. The whole million monkeys at a million typewriters hasn't churned out Hamlet yet, but frankly, I'm not surprised. Although, to be honest, I wonder if the "I wanna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suck!?" is at all related to the question about Vesa Toskala signing in Sweden. I'd like to imagine it is, just for laughs.

And Y!A, how DARE you invoke the name of Two girls one cup in my hockey section! Especially with this winner of an answer:

no, this is a made up "video" that does not exisit, only in the imagination of the mind.
great internet hoax that people keep perpetuating. no one has seen it.

you should see "two guys one bottle". now THAT....
Source(s):
if it ever existed it would be on youtube and everyone would have a link.:)))

Le Bouchon, you're an idiot. But at least you're just one idiot in a sea of them, so you'll have plenty of company.

An Open Letter to the Random Leaf on the Maple Leafs website

(UPDATE: DAMMIT, SCHENN)
I know I've seen you on the Maple Leafs website before, but you still bug me:

WHO ARE YOU, RANDOM LEAF? I think I have seen you identified as "Luke Schenn", but it just can't be. Look at that haircut. I'd expect that from someone like Rickard Wallin or maybe Nikolai Kulemin, but not Luke Schenn. Luke would never get such an emo haircut. And look at that soul patch! The Leafs have not seen a soul patch worth mentioning since the days of Trevor Kidd (and even then it was more along the lines of "the hell is on his face?")

And what the HELL are you trying to prove, stick behind your head, eyes half open. Are you trying to challenge me to a fight, or hit on me? I don't understand you, random Leaf, but maybe that's for the best. Maybe it's better that I don't understand a man who makes his chin look like a porn star's pubic mound.

See you in September,

LD

Rickard Wallin, Bizzarro Supermodel

I don't know why, but tonight I was looking around for pictures of Rickard Wallin. Normally, this would be like an LOLeafs post, but these photos are so silly on their own, adding text would be mostly redundant.

(source for above photo, featuring a cameo from Jonas Gustavsson!)

Archimedes has a whole post dedicated to Wallin's fashion sense, which is full of this kind of goodness.

Between all those beer bottles and the looks on their faces, I'd guess that Wallin and his buddy about to open either "2Girls1Cup" or "Pain Olympics" (source)

I'd like to thank Sleza for finding Wallin with a rose. It's one of the best hockey player pictures...ever

Wallin + fauxhawk + ...pink hair?

UPDATE: Apparently Garret Bauman of Maple Leafs Hot Stove was so inspired by the blog "Nic Cage is Everyone", he made me this:

Friday SATURDAY YouTube Yoinkage, November 21, 2009

I call this the "that...that JUST happened" edition, because today's clips are videos that have only one approprate reaction: "That...that JUST happened."

Clip one: bowling WOULD be better if it was hockey:

Clip two: a figure skater runs a hockey game while looking FABULOUS! against freakily animated hockey players.

Clip three: Snickers apparently make you able to break the penalty box, but only for the World Championship:

Dear Most Valuable Losers:

(LD Note: trust me on this, as I know my losers)

Dear Most Valuable Losers:

Yesterday, continuing a long-standing trend, another Toronto reporter took a cheap shot at Leaf fans. This time it was Howard Berger who called us "losers" but we've seem the same cookie-cutter article from virtually everyone who covers the team.

Quite frankly, we've had enough.

As fans, we believe that those most deserving of our praise and our scorn are directly involved in the game, whether it's on the ice, in the press box or in the executive corridors. Fans don't pencil in the starting five, make bad trades, or write the headlines of the day and shouldn't be blamed (or praised) for the totals in the wins and loss column.

Hockey may be just a game but it's also a passion. If you're looking for passionate hockey coverage that offers insight and humour and you're sick of being blamed for supporting a team you're passionate about, you have a better option.

It's time to leave the media superstars behind. There's compelling, timely, wide-ranging content waiting just for you online in the Barilkosphere.

Many have found this better way of following the Leafs, but not every Leafs fan has been so lucky. Please send this message to your fellow Leaf fans via e-mail or postings on message boards and let them know that they do have a choice.

We hope you'll join us here in the Barilkosphere and become regular readers.

Friday YouTube Yoinkage: October 3, 2008

Howdy ho Domiteers! This Friday's theme is quite simply "WTF?"

Clip one: James Blunt on Sesame Street. I don't know whether to laugh or cry:

Clip two: Dancin' Kim shows us all how to do the Cabbage Patch. I never knew the Cabbage Patch had 5 steps to it. Thanks Dancin' Kim!

How is this possible?

First off, look at the box on top--Toronto's leading 2-1. Then take a good look at the Scoring summary--nobody's scored anything.

Maybe it's just my Firefox being wonky, or maybe it is the Ubuntu (friend of mine put it on the other day, which was nice because it means I have a working laptop again), but whatever it is, this is pretty messed up.

Early February WTF?

Stolen from Deadspin commenter Wasted Talent, this picture was so inappropriately funny that I couldn't stop laughing at it. the worst part is I'm in the library right now, so I can't laugh that much.

This Week in "WTF?"

Because after all, nothing says "Happy Holidays" quite like a collection of coddamn shrunken heads

These have actually been up since a few days after Halloween, but I only got around to taking a picture tonight. I tried to get in a good shot but they were put up too high for me (plus I didn't want to look like I was casing the store in order to rob it.)
